The Belize District Rural Primary Schools Softball Competition was played on Thursday March 17, 2011, at the Softball Field in Ladyville Village.
Ten schools including the two times national primary schools softball champions of Belize Crooked Tree Government School participated in the girls’ competition, while 14 schools participated in the boys’ competition.
In the female championship game, defending district champions Crooked Tree Government School defeated Burrell Boom Methodist by the score of 5 to 3. The winning pitcher was Elma Wade and the losing pitcher was Sabrina Campus.
In the third round of the competition in the female category, Crooked Tree Government eliminated St. Thomas Anglican School by the score of 4 to 0. The winning pitcher was Elma Wade and the losing pitcher was Caithlyn McFadzean.
In round two, Burrell Boom Methodist defeated St. Isabella Primary School by the score of 14 to 0. The winning pitcher was Sabrina Campus and the losing pitcher was Doreen Moody.
In game two in the round, Crooked Tree Government School also defeated Biscayne Government School by the score of 5 to 1. The winning pitcher in the game was Elma Wade and the losing pitcher was Angilee Bradley.
In round one, Burrell Boom Methodist defeated Pancotto Primary by the score of 4 to 0. The winning pitcher was Sabrina Campus and the losing pitcher was Amesha Vicente.
In game two, Crooked Tree Government defeated Lucky Strike Government School by the score of 8 to 1. The winning pitcher was Elma Wade and the losing pitcher was Golda Morey.
In game three, St. Isabella Primary School defeated Our Lady of Sorrows by the score of 5 to 4. The winning pitcher was Doreen Moody and the losing pitcher was Jennina Mossiah.
In game four, Biscayne Government School then defeated St. Agnes Government School by the score of 6 to 3. The winning pitcher was Angilee Bradley and the losing pitcher was Vivica Young.
This was then followed by St. Thomas Anglican School winning over Hattieville Government School by the score of 8 to 1. The winning pitcher was Caithlyn McFadzean and the losing pitcher was Merle James.
In the male championship game, Crooked Tree Government School defeated Burrell Boom Methodist School by the score of 10 to 2. The winning pitcher was Gershom Gillett and the losing pitcher was Russhane Flowers.
In round three and in game one, Crooked Tree Government School eliminated St. Thomas Anglican School by the score of 14 to 0. The winning pitcher was Gershom Gillett and the losing pitcher was Dornell Talbert.
In game two, Burrell Boom Methodist eliminated Our Lady of Sorrows by the score of 6 to 0. The winning pitcher was Russhane Flowers and the losing pitcher was Matthew Martinez.
In the second round of the championship and in game one, Our Lady of Sorrows defeated St. Luke Anglican by the score of 5 to 3. The winning pitcher was Matthew Martinez and the losing pitcher was Andrew Banner.
In game two, Burrell Boom Methodist School defeated Lucky Strike Government School by the score of 3 to 0. The winning pitcher was Russhane Flowers and the losing pitcher was Rashid Bethran.
In the third game of the male competition Crooked Tree Government School defeated Biscayne Government School by the score of 1 to 0. The winning pitcher was Gershom Gillett and the losing pitcher was Barrington Wade.
In the first round of the competition and in game one, St. Thomas Anglican School defeated Pancotto Primary School by the score of 14 to 2. The winning pitcher was Shaquille Theus and the losing pitcher was Spencer Jefferson.
In game two, Lucky Strike Government School defeated St. Isabelle Primary by the score of 4 to 0. The winning pitcher was Rashid Bethran and the losing pitcher was Jennina Mossiah.
In the third game of the day, Burrell Boom Methodist defeated Our Lady of the Way RC by the score of 5 to 3. The winning pitcher was Russhane Flowers and the losing pitcher was Jerome Carr.
In game four, Biscayne Government School defeated Hattieville Government School by the score of 7 to 0. The winning pitcher was Barrington Wade and the losing pitcher was Kenyon Lewis.
In game five, St. Luke Anglican School defeated St. Agnes Government School by the score of 9 to 0. The winning pitcher was Andrew Bennett and the losing pitcher was Antuwan McFadzean.
In the sixth game of round one, Our Lady of Sorrows defeated Guadalupe Government School by the score of 4 to 0. The winning pitcher was Matthew Martinez and the losing pitcher was Oral Vaccaro.
In game seven, Crooked Tree Government School defeated St. Stephen’s Anglican School by the score of 8 to 0. The winning pitcher was Gershom Gillett and the losing pitcher was Narval Flowers.
Crooked Tree Government School girls and boys along with Burrell Boom Methodist girls and boys will represent Belize Rural in the district finals scheduled for May at Rogers Stadium.Â
