The Belize Premier Football League Championship series continued on Wednesday April 29, with two games.
In the North Zone game played at Ambergris Stadium, the visiting Nizhee Corozal and the home team San Pedro Dolphins played to a 2-2 draw. The home team San Pedro Dolphins got on the scoreboard first when Jacinto Pinelo scored the 1st goal of the game in the 9th minute of play to give his team a 1-0 lead. The first half of the game ended in favour of the home team San Pedro Dolphins.
In the second half of the game, Hilberto Caliz scored the San Pedro Dolphins’ second goal of the game in the 63rd minute of play via a penalty kick to extend his team’s lead. The visiting Nizhee Corozal finally got on the scoreboard when Antonio Castillo scored his team’s first goal in the 67th minute of play via a penalty kick to cut his team’s deficit in half. Sergio Gilharry scored the equalizing goal for Nizhee Corozal in the 83rd minute of play.
In the South Zone game played at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio Town, the host team Hankook Verdes ran all over the visiting llagulei by the score of 8-1. Daniel Jimenez scored the 1st goal of the game in the 27th minute of play to give Hankook Verdes a 1-0 lead. Marlon Meza scored his team’s second goal in the 28th minute of play, while Daniel Jimenez scored his second goal in the 30th minute of play. Ricardo Jimenez scored his team’s fourth goal in the 40th minute of play, while Marlon Meza scored his second goal in the 52nd minute of play for his team’s fifth goal. Ricardo Jimenez then scored his second goal in the 49th minute of play, the sixth for his team, while Norman Pipersburgh scored the 7th goal in the 53rd minute of play while Amin August scored Hankook Verdes’ eight and final goal of the game in the 93rd minute of play.
For llagulei, Elroy Kuylen scored its only goal in the 43rd minute of play.
