National Primary Schools Softball Championship this Friday

The 2011-2012 National Primary Schools Softball Championship is scheduled to be played this Friday June 15th, at the Rogers Stadium. The National Championship, which was to have been played two Fridays ago and had to be postponed because of the weather conditions, will now take place.

The championship is scheduled to commence at 8:45 am with the Official Opening Ceremony where it is being anticipated that the championship will be declared open by Ms. Pat Bennett, General Manager of Methodist Schools in Belize, a former member of the National Women’s Team of Belize, a former President of the Belize Softball Federation, Honorary Life Member of the Softball Federation and an International Softball Federation Hall of Fame Member.

The representatives to the National Championship consists of Xaibe Roman Catholic (girls) and Ranchito Government School (boys) will represent the Corozal District, Trial Farm Government School (girls and boys) will represent the Orange Walk District, Belize Rural Primary (girls) and Crooked Tree Government School (boys) will representing the Belize District, St. Jude Roman Catholic from Camalote Village (girls) and Roaring Creek Nazarene (boys) will represent the Cayo District, Independence Primary School (girls and boys) will represent the Stann Creek District, while Forest Home Methodist (girls) and Toledo Christian Academy (boys) will represent the Toledo District.

The games in the girls’ championship will be played at Rogers Stadium while the games in the boys’ championship will be played at the MCC Grounds.

All awards will be presented at the close of the girls’ championship at Rogers Stadium.
