Raymond Gentle City Boys United widens lead in Super League Competition

RaymondThe Belize Bank Super League Competition continued on Sunday April 4, 2011, with for games across the country.


At the Hattieville Football field, the defending champions and the current leaders in the competition, the Raymond Gentle City Boys United continued on its winning path when it blew away the host team Hattieville Monarchs by the score of 5 to 1.

The visiting Raymond Gentle City Boys United got on the scoreboard first when Deon McCaulay scored the 1st goal of the game in the 12th minute of play to give his team an early lead. That lead was further extended when Deon McCaulay scored his 2nd goal of the game in the 28th minute of play for the 2-0 lead.

The City Boys United continued to dominate the game when Leon Jones scored his team’s 3rd goal of the game in the 48th minute of play, and again the 65th minute of play for a commanding 4-0 lead.

The home team Hattieville Monarchs finally got on the scoreboard when Floyd Jones scored his team’s only goal of the game in the 78th minute of play to cut the deficit to three. However, that was short lived when Ian Gynair scored the 5th and final goal of the game in the 83rd minute of play for the Raymond Gentle City Boys United.

Going out west to the Camalote Football Field in Camalote Village, the visiting Paradise/Freedom Fighters from Toledo stopped the home team Cayo South United in its track  when it up-ended it by the score of 4 to 1.

The 1st goal of the game was scored by Tarrel Flores in the 12th minute of the game to give the visiting Paradise/Freedom Fighters a 1-0 lead. That lead was further increased when Andres Makin Jr. scored his 1st of three goals in the 36th minute of play for a 2-0 lead. Makin scored his 2nd goal in the 78th minute and his 3rd goal in the 90th minute of play.

Meanwhile, the only goal of the game for the Cayo South United team was scored by Wilhem Coe in the 85th minute of play.

At the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk Town, Orange Walk United defeated Griga Knights by the score of 5 to 0. The goals for Orange Walk United were scored by Jarett Davis in the 40th and 42nd minutes of play, Randy Casanova in the 64th minute of play, and Dean Flowers in the 84th and 87th minutes of play.

In the final game on the schedule that was played at the MCC Grounds, the visiting Placencia Assassin defeated Third World by the score of 2 to 0.
The first goal of the game for Placencia Assassin was scored by Zerrick Torres in the 6th minute of play, while the 2nd and final goal was scored by Brandon Torres in the 91st minute of play.
