The Belize Cycling Association is sponsoring its 12th Annual Junior Cross Country Cycling Classic on Sunday April 3, 2011. The Junior Cross Country Cycling Classic is being held under the regulations of both the International Cycling Union and the Belize Cycling Association.
The race, which is 70 miles long, is scheduled to commence at 9:00 am from the ferry in Succotz Village, and will travel the full length of the Western Highway to Mile 2 at Leslie’s Imports for the conclusion.
The Technical Meeting in connection with the 12th Annual Junior Cross Country Cycling Classic is set for Thursday March 31st, at 6:00 pm at the Football Federation of Belize Headquarters in Belmopan.
According to the Belize Cycling Association, as of today, 7 teams have registered to compete in this event. The teams registered are Cayo High road, C-Ray; Clear the Land, Twin Town, M&M Engineering, Cayo Uprising and Indeco.
The Cycling Association will be holding a parade of junior cyclists on Saturday morning, April 2, 2011, around the principal streets in San Ignacio/Santa Elena.
The defending champion is Deezan Spence of the Twin Town Cycling Team.
