The 2010-2011 Central Region Secondary Schools Volleyball championships came to an end on Friday October 20, at the Belize City Centre. In the female championship game, defending champion and the competition’s favourite St. Catherine Academy defeated Anglican Cathedral College handily in three sets by the score of 25-19, 25-14 and 25-14.
In the male championship game, it was “Sursum Corda” indeed for the Methodist boys who captured its first Central Region Secondary Schools Male Volleyball Championship since 1999, when it defeated Nazarene High School.
Wesley College earned the right to represent the Central Region at the National Secondary Schools Volleyball Championship next month when it defeated Nazarene High School in four sets by the score of 25-21, 25-19, 24-26 and 25-14. The National Secondary Schools Volleyball Championship is scheduled for November 5 and 6, 2010, at the Andres Campos Civic Centre in Corozal Town.
