Police have arrested and charged three persons for two separate robberies which took place in Belize City last week. The first took place at the Belize Healthcare Partners Ltd. in West Landivar on Sunday, July 4. According to reports, a red SUV pulled up to the hospital from which two men exited. The security guard who was on duty at the time said that he was robbed of his cell phone and wallet before the men made their way to the hospital’s cashier who was relieved of an undisclosed amount of cash. They then returned to the parked SUV, making good their escape.
One day later, a black SUV, pulled up to the Best Western Biltmore Plaza Hotel located on the Philip Goldson Highway. Two armed robbers held up an employee and made off with more than $10,000 in a cash bag.
Arrests were made for the broad daylight robberies on Wednesday, July 7 when police formally arrested and charged two persons for the crime of robbery. They are Kylon Craig, 30-year-old unemployed of Banak Street, and Duceberry Bowen, 24-year-old of George Street. Craig was also charged in relation to the hospital robbery. On Thursday, July 8, Craig was jointly charged with Alyon Domingo, 19-year-old of Plues Street. Craig and Domingo were charged with three counts of robbery.
