Police investigations into an incident in Georgeville, Cayo are ongoing as they work to ascertain the details surrounding the discovery of a body. The decomposing body was found in the village at around 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 12, and has since been identified as 46-year-old Michael Spain, a resident of the village. He is also known as “Brown”. Police were sent to the victim’s home where they determined that the body was in preliminary stages of decomposition. They are still working to determine whether Spain died as a result of a natural cause or if foul play is involved.
Spain’s family members says that they became worried about their loved one after not having seen him for some days. As a result, one of his brothers headed to his home where he made the shocking discovery. That brother, David McDougall, says that it seemed that there were abrasions to his brother’s face, cuts and swellings. He also says that his brother’s front door was locked from the inside but that a window was open and that his wallet was missing. According to McDougall, when the Scenes of Crimes technicians arrived they reported that they did not see any signs of foul play. However, he is urging and pleading with the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the death of his brother.
