Alfonso “Rebel” Perez, a 51-year-old man, was committed to stand trial at the January 2020 session of the Supreme Court for allegedly sexually assaulting a 3-year-old boy. On Tuesday, November 5, 2019, the case against Perez ended in a paper committal before Magistrate Emmerson Banner. As such, his previous bail was revoked and he was offered a new one in the sum of $5,000 which he was able to meet.
It is alleged that in January of this year, Perez made the child perform oral intercourse on him. For the offense, he was initially arraigned on February 4, 2019 where he was unrepresented. He told the court that he was not guilty and offered an explanation. Due to the young age of the child, bail was denied and he was remanded until he was able to secure bail after serving some months behind bars.
