Kijahn Bradley, a 24-year-old resident of Mahogany Heights, is on remand at the Belize Central Prison after he was accused of attempting to kill a man. He was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Sharon Fraser on Friday, November 1, 2019 when he was read three indictable offenses. Those include attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, and dangerous harm in relation to an incident that occurred on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. Given that these are all indictable offenses, no plea was taken from Bradley and a preliminary inquiry will be held to determine if there is sufficient evidence. Due to the nature of the offenses, bail could not be granted and he was remanded into custody until December 18, 2019.
It is alleged that on October 30, 2019, Bradley stabbed Matthew Smith. According to Smith, he and Bradley were involved in an altercation and it was then that Bradley stabbed him in his chest with a knife.
Bradley was also charged with abetment to commit attempted murder in connection with another incident. According to the allegation, he aided Emerson Arnold in an attempt to kill a man on January 8, 2019. For this incident, he was given the same adjournment date of December 18, 2019.
