CAYENNE, French Guiana– Both French Guiana and Belize will be seeking to open Group A of League B in the CONCACAF Nations League with some consistency when they meet for the first time in history on Thursday at the Stade Municipal Dr. Edmard Lama in Cayenne, French Guiana.
The fortunes of the two teams in CONCACAF Nations League Qualifying practically mirrored each other, with both opening their campaigns with wins, followed by defeats then another round of victories before concluding CNLQ with losses.
Jules Haabo will be the man to watch for Les Yana Dokos, as the FW was the co-leader ins coring for the team during CNLQ with two goals, tied with dangerous DF Kevin Rimane.
Meanwhile, Belize WILL arrive into Thursday’s contest with plenty of weapons of their own: Krisean Lopez, who led the team in scoring in CNLQ with two goals, and all-time national team leading scorer Deon McCaulay.
For two teams that went through a rollercoaster ride of emotions in CONCACAF Nations League Qualifer, a positive result in week one would do wonders to build confidence for the rest of their respective Group A campaigns.
