Belize City Primary Schools Basketball Competition enters semi-finals

The 2009-2010 Belize City Primary Schools Basketball Competition will come to an end on Thursday January 28, 2010, at the Belize City Centre with the championship games in both the female and male competition.

The regular season came to an end on Monday January 25, 2010, when St. Martin’s De Porres defeated St. John Vianney by the score of 36-21. The top scorer for St. Martin’s De Porres was Clency Lopez with 8 points while the top scorer for

St. John Vianney was Karl Smith also with 8 points.

On Friday January 22, in the first male game, Caye Caulker Roman Catholic defeated Buttonwood Bay Nazarene by the score of 22-18. The top scorer for Caye Caulker Roman Catholic was Marcello Ventura with 9 points, while the top scorer for Buttonwood Bay Nazarene was Ricardo Pavon with 9 points.

In the second game, Trinity Methodist defeated All Saints’ Anglican School by the score of 21-12. The top scorer for Trinity Methodist was Elwin Pollard with 17 points and the top scorers for All Saints’ Anglican were Dedrick Ramclam and Keyvon Evans with 4 points each.

In the third game, St. Martin’s De Porres defeated St. John’s Primary School by the score of 24-19. The top scorer for St. Martin’s De Porres was Kirkland Lambey with 11 points, while the top scorer for St. John’s Primary was Akeem Forbes with 8 points.

In the final game of the day, Wesley Upper School defeated St. Ignatius School by the score of 38-20. The top scorer for Wesley Upper was Fredrick Williams with 23 points, while the top scorer for St. Ignatius was Keimar Nicholas with 8 points.

On Thursday January 21, in the first male game, Wesley Upper School defeated All Saints’ Anglican by the score of 30-11. The top scorer for Wesley Upper School was Fredrick Williams with 16 points, and the top scorer for All Saints’ Anglican was Keyvon Evans with 9 points.

In the second game, Belize Elementary defeated St. Luke Methodist by the score of 23-17. The top scorers for Belize Elementary were Kirk Brown and Zachary Usher with 7 points each, while the top scorers for St. Luke Methodist were Joseph Lopez and Chaves Garbutt with 5 points each.

In the final game of the day, St. John Vianney defeated St. Mary’s Primary by the score of 30-12. The top scorer for St. John Vianney was Randy Franklin with 8 points, and the top scorer for St. Mary’s Primary was Lismo Williams with 4 points.

On Wednesday January 20, three games were played in the male competition. In the first game, St. Luke Methodist defeated Queen Square Anglican by the score of 31-20. The top scorer for St. Luke Methodist was Alex O’Brian with 13 points, and the top scorer for Queen Square Anglican was Kurt Hemmans with 10 points.

In the second game, Grace Primary defeated St. Ignatius School by the score of 39-25. The top scorer for Grace Primary was Trevor Jones with 15 points, while the top scorer for St. Ignatius was Sydney Bradley with 16 points.

In the final male game of the day, Stella Maris defeated Belize Elementary School by the score of 29-14. The top scorer for Stella Maris was Michael Graham with 9 points, while the top scorer for Belize Elementary was Zachary Usher with 6 points.

In the only female game of the day, St. Martin’s De Porres defeated Queen Square Anglican by the score of 8-0. The top scorer for St. Martin’s De Porres was Janell Grinage with 4 points.
