Sometime around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018, Corozal Police visited the Mennonite Neuland Community in Corozal where they observed the body of Isaac Nikoli, 38-year-old teacher. What police have been made to understand is that Nikoli was with another person in a horse and carriage travelling in the community. For some unknown reason, the horse became frantic and ended up in a drain filled with water, causing the carriage to fall on top of Nikoli. He became submerged under the water, despite efforts to pull him out. Those efforts proved futile and he died on the scene.
