A report of a missing toddler in the Silk Grass Village of Stann Creek has led to an unfortunate event. On Tuesday, February 20, 2018, Chelsey Castillo, a 24-year-old housekeeper of Hopkins, reported that her 3-year-old son was missing. Her son, Keon Martinez, lived with her mother, 51-year-old Francisa Augustine, in Silk Grass Village.

It is understood that on the previous day, the toddler was playing with some friends in the area at around 1:00 p.m. until about 4:00 p.m. when he could not be found by his grandmother. Around 6:35 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, an hour after his mother reported him missing, police received information of a body of an infant male found inside a 6ft by 6ft well in Silk Grass Village.

Upon retrieval, the body was indentified to be that of the missing toddler, 3-year-old Martinez. The body was inspected and there was no sign of physical injuries. Police investigation continues.
