Caribbean Tires burglar receives $20,000 bail

Acting upon information received on August 12, 2017 at 7:15 a.m. of a burglary at Caribbean Tires Ltd. in Spanish Lookout, police visited the area. There, 54-year-old David Reimer reported that between the hours of 6:15 p.m. on August 11, 2017 and 7:00 a.m. on August 12, 2017, someone broke into the business establishment and damaged an iron safe located in a room at the lower flat of the building and stole USD ,000, BZD ,000, banking cheques, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

As a result of their investigations police arrested and charged Omar Gomez, a 22-year-old Belizean truck driver of Billy White village, with burglary, handling stolen goods, and causing damage to property. He was arraigned on August 16, 2017 at the San Ignacio Magistrate’s court and was granted bail of $20,000. The matter has been adjourned until November 17, 2017.
