The Cayo Neighborhood Watch Association (CNWA) in collaboration with the San Ignacio Police Formation will be deleting graffiti in different areas of San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town on July 29th from 6:00 to 7:00 am. Graffiti has been noted to be near the Eden High School in Santa Elena Town, at the end of the Hawkesworth Bridge and in the Santiago Juan Layout Areas. Three different teams will be painting over these unsightly markings on public places, which are indications of or are a precursor to gang activity.

“We are dealing with graffiti in those areas, it is a sign of gangs and of course we don’t tolerate that, we want to let them know that it is being seen and dealt with… to let people know that there are volunteers that care about clean, good community,” says Ernie Braun, Chairman of the CNWA.

Members of the community who would like to donate paint brushes, paint pans, paint or any other painting supplies can do so by dropping off their supplies at the Community Policing Section behind the San Ignacio Police Station or by contacting Corporal Jason Jones at 631-7124. Assistance towards this painting effort can also be made to CNWA Chairman Ernie Braun or by contacting him at 663-1287.
