The Guardian Newspaper was visited by Guo Dahao a bicyclist from mainland China who’s been peddling his way across the world.

Guo Dahao says he’s passed through 91 countries of the world and he’s trying to break a world record by being the first man to travel to most countries in the world. He says he has some 15 countries left before he can achieve his aim. He arrived in the country a few days ago via the Western border at Melchor. His guide while in Belize has been City Councillor Eric Chang. Chang says that he was contacted by the Taiwanese Embassy to assist Guo Dahao as he made his way across the country. Chang adds that Guo Dahao entered the country with a transit visa after the personnel at the border were kind enough to issue him with one. He says that when Guo Dahao entered the country the personnel at the Immigration Department assisted him with that and that Guo wishes to express his gratitude. Guo would also like to thank the Government of Belize, the Taiwanese Embassy and the Belize Chinese Association for the assistance they have given him while in Belize.

Guo left mainland China in May of 1999 through Russia and has moved along thousands of miles by bicycle. His journey has now brought him to Belize where he left from on Saturday April 25 en route to Mexico. As a side note, Guo Dahao has eight passports that have been stamped out and has a U.S. Visa which says “for travel by bicycle”.
