On Tuesday September 15th, Lifeline’s Director Kim Simplis-Barrow handed over a cheque of 28 thousand dollars to the Dorothy Menzies Child Care Center located in Belize City. The donation was received by Chairperson of the Center Dorothy Menzies who expressed her appreciation for Lifeline’s commitment to the support of our nation’s children. She continued explaining that the funds will assist the Center in improving the level of care at the facility through the placement of a facility manager and a team of dedicated social workers, as well as a counselor and allied professionals from Ireland. These individuals will work side by side with local staff and conduct training for Belizean personnel to ensure skills transfer and the sustainability of the programme.

For her part, Simplis-Barrow noted that “Our children today are the leaders for tomorrow. They are in many instances, innocent victims of societal problems. LifeLine is committed to ensuring that our children are given the basic necessities in life and have an opportunity to grow and develop into outstanding citizens of our country. LifeLine will continue to provide support and assistance to improve and positively impact the lives of our precious Belizean children”.
