From the manner in which Patrick Andrews has been attacking the Government of Belize when he appears on Plus TV’s “Rise and Shine”, it was only a matter of time before he would openly declare that he is a PUP with aspirations of political office. That declaration came on Wednesday, July 10th when he openly declared that he was a PUP and that he would be seeking political office in the Belmopan constituency.
People have long been complaining that this man who purports to be some sort of Christian was straying away from his churchly duties to become overtly political. Andrews, along with others who hold claim to be Christians, have been openly and unwarrantedly bashing the Government and they have taken now to mislead Belizeans into demonstrations against the Gender Policy. It will come as no surprise when others, like Andrews too decide that they want to use their Christian platforms to launch their political aspirations.
As for Andrews running in Belmopan, we can’t even wish him luck or prayers because neither will be able to get him over the hurdle of fighting for that seat within the very political party he supports. There are still the likes of Amin Hegar, Lisa Shoman and Maureen Leslie whom he has to contend with before he even thinks he’ll be able to challenge Hon. John Saldivar, who is well known in his constituency for taking care of his people.
