 Howard Smith Nazarene Boys and Holy Angels GirlsThe 2012-2013 National Primary Schools Volleyball championship came to an end on Friday, June 21st, 2013, with the girls and boys playing for volleyball supremacy at their level.

In the girls’ championship game, Holy Angels Roman Catholic School (representing the Stann Creek District) defeated Chan Pine Ridge Government School (representing the Orange Walk District) by the score of 25-19 and 25-23 to capture the coveted title.

In the consolation game for third place, Belize Elementary School (representing the Belize District) defeated Toledo Christian Academy (representing the Toledo District) by the score of 25-21 and 25-9 to capture the bronze medal in the championship.

In the first semi-final game of the girls’ competition, Chan Pine Ridge Government School defeated Belize Elementary School in three sets by the score of 18-25, 25-20 and 15-11 to advance to the championship game. In the second game, the budding champions Holy Angels Roman Catholic defeated Toledo Christian Academy by the score of 25-17 and 25-15 to earn the next spot in the championship game.

In the first game of the day, Belize Elementary School defeated Corozal Methodist School (representing the Corozal District) by the score of 25-19 and 25-7. In game two, Chan Pine Ridge Government School defeated Howard Smith Nazarene (representing the Cayo District) by the score of 25-20, 16-25 and 15-7. In the third game of the day, Toledo Christian Academy defeated Corozal Methodist School by the score of 25-10 and 25-8. In game four, Holy Angels Roman Catholic School defeated Howard Smith Nazarene by the score of 23-25, 25-21 and 15-10.

In the fifth game of the afternoon, Belize Elementary School defeated Toledo Christian Academy by the score of 25-18 and 25-11. In the sixth game of the afternoon, Holy Angels Roman Catholic defeated Chan Pine Ridge Government School by the score of 23-25, 25-19 and 15-12.

At the end of the championship, Tricilyn Choc of Holy Angels Roman Catholic School from the Stann Creek district was named the Most Valuable Player.

In the boys’ championship game, Howard Smith Nazarene School (representing the Cayo District) defeated Sacred Heart School (representing the Stann Creek District) in three sets by the score of 25-19, 21-25 and 15-12 to capture the national title.

In the third place game, Holy Redeemer School (representing the Belize District) defeated Toledo Christian Academy (representing the Toledo District) by the score of 22-25, 25-14 and 15-12 to capture the third place position.

In the first game of the boys’ semi-final round, Howard Smith Nazarene defeated Holy Redeemer School by the score of 25-22, 11-25 and 15-10 to advance to the first spot in the championship game. In game two, Sacred Heart School defeated Toledo Christian Academy by the score of17-25, 31-29 and 16-14 to advance to the next finalist spot.

In the first game of the boys’ championship, Holy Redeemer School defeated Our Lady of Guadalupe School (representing the Corozal District) by the score of 25-18 and 25-17. In game two, Howard Smith Nazarene defeated Chan Pine Ridge Government School (representing the Orange Walk District) by the score of 25-23 and 25-14. In the third game of the day, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic School defeated Toledo Christian Academy by the score of 25-20, 22-25 and 15-8.

In game four, it was Sacred Heart Roman Catholic School winning over Howard Smith Nazarene by the score of 21-25, 25-23 and 17-15. In game five, Toledo Christian Academy defeated Holy Redeemer School by the score of 25-21, 20-25 and 15-8. And in the final game of the first round, Sacred Heart School won over Chan Pine Ridge Government School in three sets by the score of 16-25, 25-18 and 15-9.
Charles Coyoc of Howard Smith Nazarene School was named the Most Valuable Player in the boys’ championship.
