As early as 9:00 on Tuesday night, tropical force winds were felt in Orange Walk Town. By this time, hurricane shelters across town were already occupied by a few.

Earlier in the day, Orange Walkenos were making last minute preparations in the event that Hurricane Ernesto could pose any serious threats, though just a few had taken measures to and secured their houses.

Stores across town closed later in the day so as to allow employees time to prepare for the effects of Hurricane Ernesto.

Later in the night and unto morning, the winds picked up, but still posed no threat to human life.

At the break of dawn, the sky was dark in Orange and the rain was momentarily accompanied with gusts of winds which posed no threat to human life.

People living in several areas in town have since reported that there were no damages or floods in their respective areas.

Of note is that during the early development of the depression, Orange Walkenos were closely monitoring the system, and were being properly informed via the local news and by updates from the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
