Belmopan, 8 July, 2009. Her Excellency Mrs. Blandine Kreiss, Ambassador of France to Belize, today presented her credentials to the Governor-General of Belize, Sir Colville Young, at Belize House in Belmopan.
On presenting her Letters of Credence, Her Excellency Kreiss said, “I am very honoured to be the 8th French Ambassador accredited to Belize… the relationship between France and Belize has always been very friendly, characterized by a great spirit of cooperation and, I am happy to say, totally free from any dispute… French diplomacy has great expectations for an ambitious agreement to be reached on climate change in Copenhagen next December and we shall be interested to have a fruitful exchange with Belize on such an important challenge for the future of mankind”.
For his part, His Excellency Sir Colville Young thanked the Ambassador for her kind words of friendship and cooperation and assured her that her Letters of Credence would be forwarded to Her Majesty the Queen at the earliest opportunity.
Ambassador Kreiss paid courtesy calls on Prime Minister, Hon. Dean Barrow and also on Minister of National Security, Hon. Carlos Perdomo.
