The Belize City Council congratulates Councillor Roger Espejo on his selection to represent Belize at the first ever Caribbean Canada Emerging Leaders Dialogue (2011) also known as CCELD. Built on the proven model of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conference – with over fifty years of experience – and the Governor-General’s Canadian Leadership Conference, CCELD 2011 brings together a diverse group of influential and emerging leaders to participate in a series of learning tours in varied cultures and communities. This year CCELD will bring together 120 future leaders from Canada, Bermuda, and the Caribbean to participate in a unique, two week, leadership development conference. Participants from all sectors of the economy will take part in this meaningful learning experience that broadens perspectives and improves decision-making practices.
Participants will explore important strategic areas including governance, regional cooperation and infrastructure, innovation in public and private institutions, the environment, sustainable economic growth and social inclusion. Points of focus include interdependence, teamwork and building lasting relationships across cultures and distances.
Councillor Roger Espejo will also head the Belize delegation at CCELD which will open in Ottawa, Canada and which will run from May 28 to June 11, 2011. More information may be obtained at www.cceld.com
