St. Martin’s De Porres girls and Queen Square boys are Belize City Softball Champions

The 2009-2010 Belize City Primary Schools Softball Championship came to an end at Rogers Stadium on Wednesday April 14, 2010 with the championship game in both the female and male categories. In the female championship game, St. Martin’s De Porres defeated Holy Redeemer School by the score of 5-2. The winning pitcher was Gilda Moguel and the losing pitcher was Tyra Moreira.

In the male championship game, Queen Square Anglican School defeated Central Christian School by the score of 10-2. The winning pitcher was

Devaughn Zuniga and the losing pitcher was Miguel Delgado. On Monday April 12, 2010, in the first semi-final game in the female competition, Holy Redeemer School eliminated St. John Vianney by the score of 11-1. The winning pitcher was Tyra Moreira and the losing pitcher was Karen Robinson.

In the first male semi-final game, Queen Square Anglican eliminated Salvation Army School by the score of 12-0. The winning pitcher was Devaughn Zuniga and the losing pitcher was Luis Acosta. On Tuesday April 13, in the second semi-final game in the female competition, St. Martin’s De Porres eliminated Salvation Army School by the score of 6-0. The winning pitcher was Gilda Moguel and the losing pitcher was Alshia Lucas.

In the second semi-final in the male competition, Central Christian School eliminated St. John Vianney by the score of 12-0. The winning pitcher was Miguel Delgado and the losing pitcher was Glevin Reneau. St. Martin’s De Porres and Holy Redeemer girls along with Queen Square Anglican and Central Christian boys will represent Belize City at the district finals scheduled for Monday April 19, 2010 at Rogers Stadium.
