Altitude FC best next door neighbor Placencia Assassins FC in Closing Season game

The Premier League of Belize Closing Season competition continued on Sunday 16th February, 2020, with three games on the schedule.
At the Placencia Football field in Placencia Village, the visiting Altitude FC from across the lagoon in Independence Village blanked the home team by the score of 1-0 to virtually pull itself into a tie for first place with Bandits Sport.
The only goal of the game was scored by Eduardo Andrade in the 78th minute of play to secure the victory for the visiting Altitude FC.
At the MCC Grounds, the visiting San Pedro Pirates FC edged out the host team BDF FC by the score of 2-1.
The visiting San Pedro Pirates FC was the first to make it onto the scoreboard when Jose Javasi scored the first goal of the game in the 41st minute of play to give his team a 1-0 lead.
In the second half of the game, the San Pedro Pirates FC lead was further increased when Jose Tinoco scored his team’s second goal of the game in the 57th minute of play to give his team a 2-0 lead. However, the lead was cut into half when Camilo Sanchez scored the only goal of the game in the 78th minute of play for the home team BDF FC. However, it was not enough to tie the score or even go-ahead in the game, and at the sound of the long whistle it was indeed a 2-1 victory for the San Pedro Pirates FC.
Meanwhile, at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio Town, the visiting Bandits Sport and the home team Verdes FC played to a 0-0 draw.
The competition will continue this coming weekend with three more games on the schedule.
