Bandits Sport new leader in Premier League Closing Season competition

The Premier League of Belize 2019-2020 Closing Season competition continued on Saturday 8th February, with three games on the schedule.
At the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan, the host team Bandits Sport blanked the visiting Wagiya SC by the score of 5-0.
The first goal of the game was scored by Facundo Garnier in the 27th minute of play to give his team a 1-0 lead. Garnier for all intent and purpose single handily defeated the visiting Wagiya SC by scoring three of the five goals that his team scored. Garnier went on to score the second goal of the game in the 34th minute of play to give his team a 2-0 lead. The lead was further increased when Georgie Welcome scored his team’s third goal of the game in the 50th minute of play to give his team a 3-0 lead.
That lead was further increased when Facundo Garnier scored his third goal of the game in the 56th minute of play to give his team a 4-0 lead. Georgie Welcome then went on to score his team’s fifth and final goal of the game in the 69th minute of play for the big 5-0 win.
Out at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro Town, the visiting Placencia Assassins FC edged out the host team the San Pedro Pirates by the score of 2-1.
The visiting Placencia Assassins FC was the first to make it onto the scoreboard when Jhon Valencia scored his team’s first goal of the game in the 41st minute of play to give his team a 1-0 lead.
It was not until well into the second half of the game that the San Pedro Pirates were able to make it onto the scoreboard when Dixon Paguada scored the equalising goal in the 66th minute of play for his team to tie the score at 1-1.
The Placencia Assassins FC pick up the much-needed win when Alexander Peters scored the winning goal for his team in the 84th minute of play to give his team the 2- 1 victory.
And in the final game played out at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence Village, the home team Altitude FC and the visiting BDF FC played to a 1-1 draw.
An own goal by Aldin Forman (Altitude FC player) in the 57th minute of play gave the visiting BDF FC a 1-0 lead. However, Altitude FC’s Myron Cadle scored the equalising goal in the 75th minute of play to tie the score at 1-1.
The competition will continue this coming weekend with three more games on the schedule.
