A fire erupted in a wooden house on Friday, May 11, 2018. The home housed 9 people of which 4 children were inside a room at the time of the fire. According to Sharmane Bainton, one of the residents, she received a call just before 4:00 p.m. from her daughter who was at their home on Manta Ray Boulevard in Vista del Mar. That daughter was the one who helped to get all the children out of the house and while all of them made it out with their lives, they were not able to save anything else.

Less than 24-hours after that fire, another house fire, also on Manta Ray Boulevard, erupted. That fire has left a single mother and her son displaced. According to Orin Smith, Station Manager, National Fire Station, preliminary investigation revealed that there were two separate points of origin.

Yet a third fire struck in the Belize district. According to residents of Western Paradise at 8 miles on the George Price Highway, an abandoned house went up in flames on Sunday, May 13. That structure could not be saved and an owner has not yet come forward.
