At press time tonight, 28 year-old Cardinal Andrews, a resident of Burrell Boom Village, is clinging to life after he was shot in the head in the Saint Martins area of Belize City.

At around 4 p.m., on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, Andrews was socializing in front of a friend’s house on Partridge Street when a gunman shot him in the back of the head. The bullet is said to have exited through his forehead.

It is not known at this time why he was targeted, but persons who were around at that time rushed to his aid, and he was swiftly transported to the KHMH via a police mobile. Police continue to insist that he survived the attack, and is at the hospital, where doctors are trying to save his life.

A separate police mobile reportedly set chase in the direction that the gunman fled.
