In the New Testament letter to the Hebrews, chapter 5, verse 14, we read: “Solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.”

Every scripture we read has the power to make us more sensitive to working with our 5 spiritual senses. Our spirit is described as our inner being, who is the real us. Our spirit has all the features we have physically including eyes, ears, nose, mouth. One of the questions people ask often is, is it God telling me to do this or that? Then what happens is that, although we ask God for answers, we become double minded after we get it. That’s because sometimes those answers seem ridiculous to the human mind. However, the purpose of the word of God is to settle the question for us.

Every scripture we study is supposed to generate something in us. It either gives us revelations which come as words in our minds, which sharpen our spiritual hearing. Or it gives us visions or dreams, which develops our spiritual sight. Or we smell the sweet aroma of God’s anointing for us to use. Or we taste His goodness. Or we touch Him in a special way that releases our answers.

So anytime we read the word, we should wait for at least one of these things. The more we get them into our spiritual senses, the quicker we will be able to identify if what we are sensing inside us is from God or the devil. Training our spirits to be strong in God is just like training children, the more things they see the more they can recognize. It is the revelations from the word of God which helps us to train our spiritual senses.

Bring out the revelations to train your spirit, from the words you read.
