On June 6, 2017, a 10-year old female student of Corozalito Village, in the presence of her mother and a Social Worker, reported that on December 28, 2016 while she was at home along with her stepfather and her little sister, she was in her room drying her skin when he pushed open the door. The minor was in the nude and he complimented her private area and left the room.
The complainant then went to the kitchen and while she was washing some dishes, he kissed her on the mouth and told her that he loved her. He then proceeded to fondle her.
The minor also stated that on the January 21, 2017 while she was in her mother’s room, he took off her pants and underwear and inserted his finger in her. He then had sexual intercourse with her. She asked him to stop, because it was hurting her, which he did and he left the room.
Sometime in February 2017, he threatened to kill her family and sometime in March 2017 during the day time while she was at home with her sister, he told her to go in her mother’s room with him, which she did. They both sat on the bed and he began fondling and kissing her. He undressed her and proceeded to have sexual intercourse with her.  She told him to stop because it was hurting, which he did.
On the May 27, 2017 at about 3:30 a.m., she was in her room along with her 8-year-old sister sleeping when he woke them up and took them into their mother’s room.  He then completely undressed himself and got into the bed with them. He proceeded to insert his finger inside their private parts. The complainant then left the room and the accused then proceeded to have sexual intercourse with her little sister who begged him to stop because it was hurting and he did.
On the May 28, 2017 while their mother was questioning them, the10-year-old told her mother what happened.
On June 6, 2017, a medical examination was conducted on the complainant by a Medical Officer where he certified that she was carnally known. A medical examination was also conducted on the 8-year-old that certified that she was not carnally known.
Police obtained a warrant in the first instance for the arrest of the 50-year old man of Corozalito Village, on July 25, 2017. He was formally arrested and charged with 4 counts of sexual assault and 3 counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, all of which were read to him before the court on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. In court where he was unrepresented, no plea was taken from him as it is still undetermined whether or not the charges will be taken to the Supreme Court. Due to the nature of the offenses, he was denied bail and was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until September 28, 2017.
As late as 2 p.m. police sources have said that there are two more charges to be levied against him for assault upon a minor by means of penetration.
