Belize Water Services extends lead in Interoffice Basketball Competition

The 2009 Interoffice Basketball Competition continued on April 27 with three games at the Belize City Centre.

In game one, Belize Water Services Ltd. extended its lead in this year’s competition when it defeated Youth for the Future by the score of 43-35. The top scorers for BWSL were Fenton Norales with 10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals, and Devon Defour with 8 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist. Meanwhile, the top scorers for Youth for the Future were Elsworth Itza with 17 points, 16 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block and 2 steals, and Stanley Bradley with 9 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals.

In game two, Police Department defeated Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital by the score of 59-55. The top scorers for the Police were Derrick Gideon with 14 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal, and Juvencio Serrano with 11 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals. For Karl Heusner Memorial, the top scorers were Raymond Staine with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 steals, and Norman Humes with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 1 steal.

In the third and final game of the evening, Belize City Council defeated General Post Office by the score of 58-49. The top scorer for Belize City Council was Kenroy Usher with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block and 3 steals. Meanwhile, the top scorers for the Post Office were Greg Mahler with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block and 1 steal, and Ian Ferrera with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals.
