On Tuesday March 21 sometime around 1p.m. two young men were on the Macal river hunting Iguanas when they came up on a crucus bag floating in the water. When they came closer to the bag they found the remains of a human body. They found hands and feet inside the bag and immediately notified their mother and authorities. Of note is that the young men were the sons of Sherlene Mai who is the mother of 18 year old Kerona Ara who had been found at a garbage dump 4 miles of Belmopan, burnt. Ara’s mother, Shirlene Mai, said the find was unexpected and she called the police.

After police arrived on the scene they confirmed that the bag contained body parts however it was not determined who they belonged to. On Wednesday however, additional body parts were found in the same area and test will be conducted to determine whether it is associated to the body parts found on Tuesday in the same region. The torso of the female was found about 200 meters from where the hands were found on Tuesday.
