WORDS OF LIFE

In Psalm 71:19-21, the writer declares, “Your righteousness, God, reaches to the heavens, you who have done great things. Who is like you, God? Though you made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will remember my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once more.”
As we begin the year 2017, it’s a good time to reflect on the past 12 months, and consider what our Heavenly Father has brought us through. Our enemy Satan will always be busy trying to pull us down. In John 10:10, Jesus is referring to the devil when he says, “The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy.” The more we do for Jesus, the more he attacks. He will attack us at our weakest point, and at our most venerable time.

So, when you face times of difficulty, disappointment, or discouragement, remember where these things come from, and that God is not responsible for your negative situation. The brother of Jesus commented in James 1:17, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

For every bad situation the evil one throws at us, God our Father will provide a way through, and give us the victory!

Pastor Andrae Crouch summed it up well when he wrote the classic Gospel Music song, “Through It All.” Part of the lyrics are: ‘Through it all, through it all, I learned to trust in Jesus, I learned to trust in him. Through it all, through it all, I’ve learned to depend upon his word.”
