As part of the Boxing Day cheer, some 350 adults and children from Benque Viejo del Carmen attended a party at Sam’s Bruce Community Park on Phillip Goldson Street this past Friday. Proprietor of the Park, Sam Bruce, who is also the Zone Captain for the Zone Four Neighborhood Watch Group, was present to organize games and give out gifts to the children.
Also present at the party last Friday was Corporal Josh McKoy and his team of cadets. McKoy is attached to the Community Policing Program at the Benque Viejo Police Sub Station.
“As Zone Captain; without the participation of my volunteers and sponsors, I could not accomplish these events alone over all these years”, explains Sam Bruce, who has been holding a party at his park since 2008.

According to Sam Bruce he wants to develop his park with the community in mind and has already constructed a partially completed swimming pool. When completed the pool at Sam’s Bruce Community Park will have its own slide.
