It is perhaps one of the most unethical and disturbing things in business, for someone to use their position for personal gain. Based on evidence provided to the Guardian Newspaper, this is where Kevin Bernard finds himself in these days.
This newspaper was furnished with various correspondences by Facebook and e-mail between Bernard and a young man who’s name we will not publish which points to some great deal of inappropriate behavior on the part of the mayor.
The first in the series of correspondences has three pictures of a male’s genital which were forwarded to the aforementioned young man. Apparently there was a request whereby the young man said “yeah sure send it i wud like to see it jeje”. The respondent to the e-mail carrying the address: Kevin Bernard (muchodinero24@gmail.com) complied to the request and sent three pictures. There is a note on the email stating “OK please keep to yourself, Send me a text when u get this”. Looking at the e-mail, the request was made on February 5, 2011 at 12:26p.m. and by 10:37p.m. it came.
While this type of communication would make anyone shiver, compounding the situation is that by the time Bernard became the mayor of Orange Walk town, the correspondences between the two aforementioned persons continued. On September 19th of 2012 there was a correspondence between Mayor Kevin Bernard (kebernard@hotmail.com) where he sent a letter to the young man. We are not certain of what the letter contained but it was to the same individual.
We have also gotten a copy of a letter dated 19th of September 2012 in which the same young man was applying for summer internship at the Orange Walk Town council. We do not know if the person received the job but we can surmise that based on further facebook correspondence between Kevin Bernard who wrote the letter and the young man who received the letter he must have gotten it. We say this because further correspondence between a Kevin Bernard and the same young man has the Bernard referring to the young man as ‘Beb’.
While we are not at liberty to expose who the young man is whom Kevin Bernard was having the amorous communication with since 2011, we can say that the very young man is currently employed at the Orange Walk Town Council. He as we understand it has had privileges upon privileges heaped upon him which are not afforded to everyone at the council.
If indeed what our correspondences suggest are true, would this not mean that there was one individual who used his position for, if not personal gain, at least for personal favors? Was this a case where a political office was used for personal favors?
