The Embassy of the United States of America in Belmopan is pleased to announce that the Hoppin’ John String Band will perform in Belize from April 23 to 29, as part of the Central American tour of Rhythm Road – American Music Abroad.
The Hoppin’ John String Band is a country-bluegrass group which, in addition to playing American folk music in the U.S., has traveled internationally hosting workshops on the history and tradition of folk music.
While in Belize, the Hoppin’ John String Band is expected to appear on local television and radio shows, host workshops with Belizean musicians and students, and conduct concerts at schools and communities in Belize City, Spanish Lookout, and Toledo. The band will also perform at the Belize Audubon Society’s Earth Day Activities at Guanacaste National Park on April 25.
The Embassy of the United States of America takes this opportunity to extend an invitation to all those who wish to participate in this initiative. Please see their schedule below for a list of concerts which are open to the general public.
