The Ministry of Health and Wellness has issued a contract to a company to provide PCR testing for persons who are entering the country. This is in line with a policy by the Ministry which will no longer accept PCR tests taken outside of Belize.
The entire deal seems to be a funnel to guarantee a revenue stream for the company which supposedly won the bid. What is most concerning is that at least one family member of the owners of the company which won the bid is actually married to a family member of the minister of Health and Wellness.
When 7News asked the Minister of Health about the deal, he stated that he had nothing to do with the company.
