The San Ignacio Community Hospital continues to reach out to the community. On Thursday the western based community hospital participated in this year’s Public Service Day under the theme “Making heroic sacrifices, displaying extraordinary humanness, providing service before self.” The various teams were also able to provide health education and COVID-19 vaccination to several people who stopped in.
One of those special guests was Officer Commanding the San Ignacio Police Formation, Peter Serano, who along with officers from the different units participated in a booth display in connection to Public Service Day. Several officers, including Serano, received their COVID-19 vaccine. He encouraged all members of the Formation to get vaccinated.
The San Ignacio Community Hospital departments showcased their different services offered to the general public. Coming to the forefront to serve were the Vector Control Unit, Mental Health Department, Health Education and Community Participation Bureau, Infection control, Tuberculosis Program, Social Workers, and the National Drug Abuse and Control Council.
A special thanks goes out to the San Ignacio Hotel Resort and Restaurant for their kind donation of lunch to front liners and the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council for the tents, tables, and chairs. For the San Ignacio Hospital organizing team, it was a day well spent and fruitful in the midst of community members who welcomed receiving the health information.
