Cocaine Found in Washer in Southern Belize

At around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, Stann Creek police conducted a search at a home on Poots Martinez Street, Rivas Estate Area, Dangriga Town. That search yielded the discovery of five parcels of suspected cocaine inside a washing machine. When weighed, the suspected drugs amounted to 6,161 grams or just under 14 pounds.
The officers detained those present at the house. They are Rashad Oscar Garcia, a 25-year-old Belizean mason; Anthony Garcia, a 28-year-old Belizean mason; Bobby Anthony Castillo, a 24-year-old, Belizean electrician; Kevin Welcome, a 29-year-old Honduran boat captain and a 16-year-old male. All persons were detained pending charges of drug trafficking.
