Awards are given to UB employees for long years of service

Professor Emeritus Clement Sankat

Several members of staff of the University of Belize have been recognized for their long years of service in the first-ever virtual ceremony. The Master of ceremonies for the occasion was Dr. Martin Cuellar.
In his opening statement on Friday, Professor Emeritus Clement Sankat said that the members of staff are true standard-bearers for the University of Belize.
“…we will continue to depend on your effort, your skill, and knowledge,” he said.
Also, giving a message to the UB employees was Anthony Sylvester Junior. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees said that their cumulative years of service were one thousand years.
“The faculty and staff is the one constant of UB,” he said.
Interim Director of Human Resources Tieola Requena then went on to highlight the work of the awardees. For their 15 years of service, a gold-plated award went to Dr. Elma Kay, Science Director, and Violet Neal, maintenance officer.
A total of 32 employees were awarded a wine holder and a bottle of wine for their 20 years of service. Those included Dr. Kevin Tucker, assistant professor at the Belize City Campus, and Dr. Bevel Faber, an instructional designer at the Belmopan campus.
