Sweep of gang members in Roaring Creek

A police operation conducted in the village of Roaring Creek in Cayo on Wednesday, April 28 led to a sweep and the detention of six persons connected to a gang. Russel Hyde Jr., a 28-year-old resident of Camalote Village, was formally arrested and charged for being the leader of the Gullyside/RCG/Thrillers and Outlaw Gang. Joining him is Micheal Middleton, a 24-year-old construction worker of Roaring Creek, for being a member of that gang.
Four other persons, namely Joseph Hyde, 20, Anthwan Galvez, 18, Aaron Hyde, 20, and Luis Marin, 20, were likewise formally arrested and charged for being members of the Genaside Gang. All of these persons are from Roaring Creek except for Marin who hails from Cotton Tree Village.
Each of these persons was arraigned in the Belmopan Magistrate’s Court where they pleaded not guilty. They were remanded to Belize Central Prison until June 30, 2021.
