Dwayne Myers

Dwayne Myers became the second victim of murder over the weekend when he was shot and killed inside his car in Punta Gorda Town, Toledo on Saturday, April 24. He became the municipality’s second murder victim in the span of two days, following the murder of Kevonn Wade, creating much concern among the residents of that normally calm Southern town.
49-year-old Myers had just parked near a bus stop when he was killed, just minutes before 8:00 p.m. Two persons on a motorcycle approached Myers and opened fire, resulting in multiple injuries to the body which would cost him his life. Police were called to the scene and encountered his bullet-riddled body inside the vehicle. He was transported to the Punta Gorda Community Hospital but died while undergoing treatment for his injuries. Police have since canvassed the scene and found two types of ammunition used in this murder.
This murder has not only caused the Town’s locals to become frantic, but law enforcement as well. As a result, this spate of recent crimes has caused Commissioner of Police Chester Williams to head to the southernmost district to look into these criminal activities and their cause, believed to be gang warfare.
For this particular instance, police are following several leads but have yet to bring forth any charges.
