A police corporal has died after crashing into a fence in Belize City while travelling on his motorcycle. On Sunday, April 11, police officers responded to the scene of the fatal traffic accident and were surprised to see one of their own. Reports revealed that PC Johannes Rudon was off-duty when he was travelling along Regent Street and, when rounding the curve near the House of Culture at a high speed, crashed into the fence. He suffered massive injuries and died on the scene before his lifeless body was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.
An investigation into this fatal accident is ongoing, and a post mortem examination will be conducted to determine whether alcohol played a factor in his death.
