Can’t even afford Ramen

In the run up to the General Elections, the PUP complained bitterly that the only meal that Belizeans could afford was Ramen noodles. Fast forward 4 months into their administration, and it seems that even that simple meal Belizeans can’t afford. With the price of basic commodities reaching the roof, the quick meal, is among the groceries that is reaching prices beyond the reach of the ordinary man.
The latest check by the Guardian Newspaper shows that the price of Ramen noodles has now reached an unprecedented $1.25 cents at the corner store. The cheapest price we could find was retailing at $.90. Previously the noodles would retail in the region of $.50. That is now a thing of the past.
