It was a sad Easter weekend for the family of an 11-year-old boy who lost his life trying to save his mother’s. On Saturday, April 3, Corozal police were called to San Roman, Corozal where they noticed two injured persons. Residents of the home and eyewitnesses recounted the event, telling investigators that while Norelli Marin, 30, and her 11-year-old son Jamir Marin were in a hammock, an unfinished concrete wall fell on them, injuring both persons. Jamir Marin, unfortunately, would succumb to his injuries not too long after while receiving treatment. Norelli remains in a stable condition but now has to deal with the loss of her son.
