Two shot on Banak Street, one critical

Percival Pilgrim

One person is in a critical condition and a second person is receiving treatment at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital following an attack made on their lives on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Responding to reports of a shooting which took place on Banak Street, police officers visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where a 16-year-old minor was seen with a bullet graze. They also met 24-year-old Percival Pilgrim, an unemployed resident of Banak Street in Belize City, with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
Police investigations, which are preliminary, have so far indicated that both Pilgrim and the minor were walking along Banak Street toward Lakeview Street when they approached an alley. From the alley, which leads to Mayflower Street, three persons came out of a yard and two of the three proceeded to fire at the pair. Their gunshots resulted in the injury of the minor and left Pilgrim in critical condition. Police are investigating this daylight shooting incident.
In 2019, Pilgrim was acquitted of a charge of murder. He was accused of the murder of Edward “Ghost” Usher.
