Within two days, two small aircrafts were found within Belize: one in Blue Creek and the second in Stann Creek. While two men were arrested for a small amount of cocaine found in their possession on the plane which crash landed in Blue Creek, the second plane did not yield any arrests. Police say that it was discovered on Saturday, March 6 while officers were conducting patrols in the Pine Ridge Area on the Placencia Road. The officers came across a black and white twin-engine Beechcraft airplane which had crashed.
No illicit items were found and ACP Joseph Myvett, Head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch, says that all that was found were a number of empty fuel containers. Police suspect that the items were used for aviation fuel. Nothing else was found in the immediate area. They have not yet been able to determine whether these two crash landings are connected but it seems that the plane found in Placencia was there for quite some days.
