Police investigations into the latest city homicide are ongoing as they look to determine a suspect and motive in the murder of 21-year-old Jerome McLaren. He was murdered at around 8:20 p.m. on Monday, February 15, 2021 as he sat on a scooter inside a yard on Cleghorn Street. Reports are that an individual rode up in the area on a motorcycle before descending the cycle and firing toward McLaren. The gunman fired multiple shots in his direction before leaving the area on the motorcycle.
McLaren was shot multiple times and despite efforts to transport him to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, the wounds were fatal. He was pronounced dead at 9:32 p.m.
