Another cop busted with weed

PC Rosendo Cantun

A police officer from Belmopan was busted with 24 parcels of weed wrapped in Saran wrap on Thursday, January 14, 2021 during a routine vehicle checkpoint in Orange Walk. Orange Walk police were conducting the checks just before midday at the Tower Hill Bridge when they stopped police officer Rosendo Joel Cantun. His vehicle was searched and that was when they found a black plastic bag containing the parcels of suspected cannabis which weighed just under 30 pounds. The officer was arrested and charged for possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply to another.
The arrest of Cantun comes not too long after the arrest and charge of another police officer, Dion Bellini, which took place in December. He was busted with around 40 pounds of weed just outside of Orange Walk.
