Via a press release, the Supplies Control Unit (SCU) in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise informed the public of an increase in the controlled prices for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The increase of $0.23 for both retail and wholesale in rural and urban prices comes less than a month after the prices for the commodity was introduced. According to the release, the increase seen in January is due to fluctuations in acquisition prices for butane. Propane prices on the other hand have remained steady. Prices of $3.16 per gallon for wholesale and $4.76 per gallon for retail took effect on January 9, 2021.
